Our partner is a social enterprise dedicated to provide electricity for the rural poor.

They design, build and operate mini-grids and ad hoc renewable power generation systems.

Our partner delivered 14M$ in contract value since 2010 and is now effecting a turnaround to improve its profitability and reduce the cost of financing.

They are now looking for an experienced chartered accountant to support the CFO of country office in Laos.

The CFO needs advice is designing a new financial reporting and controlling system to enhance the finance function of the business.

This should include:

1. Assist in the selection and the roll out of a new accounting cloud-based package.

2. Advise in the design of a new corporate financial framework capable of producing three sets of financial reporting on a per project and consolidated basis including:

· Management Accounts with budget variances;

· Interim pro-forma accounts for monthly balances and a quarterly report;

· Cash-flow rolling forecast on a month-to-month basis.

3. Assist the CFO is evaluating resources needed for his team and train people internally.

This will include field-based project managers so the entire company understands the new system requirement and becomes capable to evolve in the new environment.

 

This job will require an estimated 3 month time with time in Laos’ capital city Vientiane.

The time in Laos is estimated to be a minimum of 50% of total time.

The consultant will work in London at the beginning of the assignment for briefing and finalisation of the financial reporting framework.

The consultant should be experienced in all areas above and be able to make a quick impact on the company by helping the CFO hands-on.

The assignment should start as soon as possible.

 

Compensation: Flights, Accommodation + $1200 pcm stipend.
