Flite is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our core infrastructure team to make a significant and meaningful impact.
Flite’s greater Engineering team is a small group of talented and fun people who believe in being proactive, building sustainable and sane architecture, and loves to learn. We maintain that by building incrementally, thoughtfully managing what we have, automating « all the things, » continuously integrating and delivering, prioritizing the many exciting projects on the roadmap, and, above all working together. We are firm believers of Infrastructure as Code and believe in the same tools to build our applications can be leveraged to build our infrastructure.
Some responsibilities include:
- Designing, scaling, and automating Flite’s cloud-based infrastructure.
- Building resilient and self-scaling systems so that you can sleep through the night even in case of instance and datacenter failures.
- Monitoring site stability and performance.
- Participating in on-call production support rotation.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience with configuration management (Chef) and knowledge of monitoring tools (Nagios, collectd, CloudWatch)
- Has experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, etc)
- Has previous production site experience as an Operations Engineer who can code or a Backend Engineer keenly interested and has some exposure to Operations work.
- Has strong Linux administration skills
- Has J2EE and Tomcat deployment experience
- Firm believer in source control management and uses Git
- Proficient in either Python or Ruby
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience in MySQL administration and/or with MySQL replication
- Have experience with Cassandra
