Entrepreneurs du Monde supports the social and economic integration of people in very precarious
situations in Africa, Asia, Haiti and France. It helps them to be entrepreneurs, to access energy and adapt to
climate change in order to emancipate themselves. EdM creates and incubates local organizations until
they become autonomous, relying on four key areas of development: social microfinance, access to energy,
support for the creation of very small businesses/employment and agro-entrepreneurship.

The ATECo energy access program started in 2015 in the slums of Manila providing basic access to
electricity, and changed to a Pay-as-you-go model for Solar Home System products in 2016. In 2019, ATECo
started operating in distant, isolated rural areas in Rizal province, Burdeos Island in Quezon province and
Northern Samar province. In addition, ATECo also piloted installing and operating solar home systems as a
service (micro-grid) in Quezon and Samar provinces.
In 2023, ATECO operates on a hybrid commercial and non-profit model requiring high efficiency and
accountability.

About the position :
The Managing Director is responsible for leading, developing and managing the program. S.he ensures a
balance between social and operational performance and economic viability, including raising local funds.
Tasks and Responsabilities :
The Managing Director and Program Manager works in the Philippines, under the responsibility of the EdM
Head of Energy Department (in France) and ATECO’s Board of Trustees; s.he has the following
responsibilities :
I – STRATEGY AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
In cooperation with EdM head of Energy department and the Program Operation Manager,
– Monitor operations, sales and collection of the payments; assess and improve the economic and financial
viability of the business models;
– Adapt the strategy to local conditions and customer profiles to maintain a high social impact;
– Develop, implement and update an annual action plan and related budget;
– Design and implement appropriate monitoring tools ; implement, closely track and adjust activities to
achieve quantitative and qualitative objectives;
– Establish and update a viable multi-year strategic and business plan;
– Ensure implementation of the Social Charter, Theory of Change, and manage social performance;
– Oversee the transfer of activities, assets and communication from EdM Philippines to ATECO Inc., to
become an autonomous and sustainable social corporation.
II/ ADMINISTRATIVE, FINANCIAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
In collaboration with the Finance and Administration manager,
– Oversee the accuracy of financial management, proper accounting and follow-up;
– Monitor the program budget and manage cash flow;
– Ensure reliability of results and compliance with accountability, regulatory and donor requirements;
– Define and manage the program’s human resources, ensure proper recruitment, training, working
conditions, incentives, benefits and contract termination as required by law and HR procedures.
III/ FUNDRAISING – REPRESENTATION – REPORTING
– Represent Entrepreneurs du Monde and ATECO Inc. to local authorities and partners;
– Identify and qualify donors, funding sources and opportunities;
– Participate in the preparation of budgets and documents for funding applications;
– Ensure proper management of allocated funds and the regularity, content and quality of reporting;
– Provide regular reports and transparent information to the EdM Head of Energy and Board Members;
– Participate in documenting and learning from implemented activities and lessons learned.

Education
You have at least a
Bachelor’s degree,
Master’s degree or 5
years of higher education
: business, management,
economics, development
aid and/or engineering in
the energy sector.
You have experience in :
financial reporting and
analysis, experience and
good knowledge of energy
access, solar
electrification and Pay-
As-You-Go.
