As part of its Public Policy Practice, Altai Consulting seeks skilled candidates for a Intern, Middle East.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The intern’s role will be to support the Middle East team across its various ongoing projects. The potential tasks include:
• Desk reviews on economic, social and political issues (synthesis of reports, articles and quantitative datasets)
• Data processing and analysis
• Preparation of survey questionnaires
• Fieldwork interviews (depending on language skills)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Ongoing or completed master-level university education
• Interest in the Middle East and in international development issues
• Residing or willing to reside in Beirut, Amman or Erbil (depending on profile), and to engage in work travels to various locations in Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq
• English and French OR English and Arabic proficiency
• Good command of Microsoft office, especially Excel

ASSETS

• Experience in the Middle East and / or in the field of international development, through volunteering, social commitments, or former internships
• English, French AND Arabic proficiency

• Curious about socio-economic, developmental, humanitarian, and regional Middle East issues
• Fast learner, hard worker
• At ease in a small, flexible structure
• Positive team player, able to propose ideas and to accept constructive criticism
• Honest, dependable

CONDITIONS

• 6-month contract, renewable. Might evolve into long-term position depending on performance and recruitment needs
• Base monthly compensation dependent on qualifications and experience
• All costs covered during work travels
