Be a part of a vibrant community, in a gorgeous Canby, Oregan, helping on our farm during growing season

  • Description

We are currently scheduling worktraders for tent camping in 2015. We try to have 6-11 worktraders/community members during the growing season. We have 62 acres of farmland, forest, pond/creeks, highlands, valley and lowlands. Veggie/aromatic gardens farmed naturally/via various methods of permaculture. Berries & nuts(strawberry, blackberry, hawthorn, elderberry, hazelnut) and trees: pear, apple, chums, plums, cherries and so forth. (We are not an orchard, but we do have a myriad of fruiting trees.) We have a fibonacci sequence solar shower done, with compost toilet and outdoor kitchen to be built soon, a few gathering spots, a sweat lodge, and indoor bathroom/kitchen/laundry), a tipi shade structure and more. We have a dozen chickens, 4 goats, a couple cats, anywhere from a couple dogs to more, depending on what sorts of friends our community member/worktraders bring and the wildlife in the area.

One awesome thing about this farm is that it’s not a program; it is humans working together for a vision that will lead to energistic gathering space/essential oil as a primary focus/music space, artistic space, farming space, enjoyment space… et al. It’s many of those already. And we’re working to take it further; all of us… together. We have something to offer that many other farms do not: community.

We are a young farm; reclaiming/planting/designing landworking hard/having fun. Figuring out the business aspect.

If you choose to write me/us/our farm, please include a bit about yourself, so that we humans here can see more than a resume….

….community is big here. So we want people who want to be a part of a vibrant community, in a gorgeous place, that is becoming whatever we make it.

We ask for 25 hours a week; there is some hard work that everyone does, and there is also fun/creative work. We do our best to utilize the skills and interests everyone has as much as is possible.

We want people who want to be here, and join/be a part of the field trips we take to our beach space, to hot springs, the river, or just the fun with bonfires and creeks we have on the land. We are all just humans, working together. And we welcome others to join us.

We’re taking 62 acres of land back, and building the foundation for community and much more than just "farm". So if you want to be a human, existing with other humans, making something awesome. We want you.

    — DETAILS —
25 hours of work a week. Scheduling is flexible once you are trained, and unless we have an urgent work/need day.

Bring your tent and whatever else you need/want to make your campsite home. You can camp in the community camp or find your own quiet spot; there is possibility for natural building. Our home is open to use for kitchen/bathroom/laundry/etc. We also have an awesome naturally built solar shower that is a pleasure to use, and will be building the compost toilet/kitchen this year. There is also a small sweat lodge we built.

Rides to small towns and Portland do happen, but usually not unless you have gas money or can join in onto a trip already happening for farm needs.

We often field trip on the weekends, or occasional weekdays; but we all chip on on gas and such.

Point is, we all chip in.
