Lead iOS Engineer

Join our pack! The role:
We’re looking for a Lead iOS Engineer to join our team and make our top-notch mobile experience even better. You’ll work on our mobile team on our iOS apps and build fun and intuitive interfaces for our pet-loving customers. As our community grows there’s also opportunity to grow into a tech lead role and bring on more mobile team members. 

You will: 
* Design and develop Whistle’s iPhone applications in a small, cross-functional team with an emphasis on usability and performance. 
* Create prototypes to answer questions about technical capabilities, look and feel, or to validate an idea. 
* Work with leading iOS tools to rapidly build features and improve performance. 
* Work closely with Whistle’s design team to build beautiful and functional interfaces. 
* Improve Whistle’s Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE stack on iOS. 
* Perform work breakdowns with estimates from design specifications. 

Here’s what we’re looking for in a strong candidate: 
* 2+ years of professional iOS development experience, and some experience on a production app with a wide reach.
* Extensive experience building engaging user interfaces on mobile 
* Passion for writing clean, maintainable code and experience in contributing back to the open source community. We’d be thrilled if you could share your insight on a project you forked on GitHub or a talk you gave at a Meetup. 
* Practiced time estimation and management skills. 

Extra treats for:
* Deep knowledge of Core Data to develop responsive applications that work as well offline as they do online. 
* Experience with ExternalAccessory and CoreBluetooth a plus. 
* Willingness to work in Swift as well as Objective-C. 
* Strong understanding of performance analysis and optimization techniques using Instruments.
