We are looking for: A PSYCHOLOGIST – MENTAL HEALTH & CARE PRACTICES COORDINATOR

Context: In Nepal, based in Kathmandu

Length of contract: 12 months starting from the 25^th of October 2015

The position: Under the supervision of the Country Director, you will be responsible to Coordinate the programmes and define a strategy for mental health and care practices.

More precisely, you will be in charge to:

• Ensure the evolution of the humanitarian situation as regards mental health and care practices :

• Collect and analyse information on mental health and protection
• Comprehend the impact of living conditions on the population
• Analyse population practices to ensure that their needs are properly met
• Write reports for publication

• Contribute to defining a programme strategy :

• Assess the population needs
• Propose intervention strategies
• Write proposals and technical reports for the donors
• Guarantee a transversal approach of the interventions

• Supervise the programmes :

• Approve the projects implementation methodology
• Define the intervention areas
• Assess the relevance of the interventions in terms of meeting the needs and from a technical point of view
• Write monthly reports
• Ensure budget follow-up

• Supervise the team:

• Participate in the recruitment and training of team members in collaboration with the administrator or the HRM
• Carry out appraisals of the executives
• Reinforce programmes and projects management
• Stimulate and communicate internally with the teams
• Organize and conduct team meetings

• Represent the organization when liaising with partners :Collaborate with other actors in the mental health field : cooperation agencies, NGOs, local institutions, administration, partners and other technical departments

• Strictly respect confidentiality :

• Ensure that confidentiality of data, property of project beneficiaries and of ACF is strictly respected
• Respect the confidentiality of clinical interviews apart from those with the psychologists in charge

The applicant: You hold a master degree in psychology or psychiatry, and demonstrate both successful clinical and humanitarian field experiences in mental health and care practices. You hold a minimum of 2 years humanitarian experience at the same position.

Recognized for your capacity in training, coaching and capacity building of team members, you also have a strong experience in proposal writing for donors and strategic thinking.

An experience in research and research dissemination will be needed.

English fluent is required.

Status:

Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305 depending on relevant experience

Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective or individual accommodation, medical insurance

25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year

Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris (1 to 2 weeks)
