Be part of a fast growing company whose primary focus is to improve and advance health and health care using modern data technologies and end-user engagement.  Rally Health is a private company of 250 employees with a major financial backing from UnitedHealth Group (with the market cap of $112B and the net income of $10B).  We have partnered with several insurance companies including UHG and other large corporations for user acquisition, clinical data feeds, and monetization.    In this role you will be enabling analytics, data science, and business intelligence by creating infrastructure and building data services around health risks, clinical and lifestyle recommendations, and population health management and reporting. Our technologies:  Scala, Play, Hadoop (CDH), Kafka, Spark and Spark Streaming, MongoDB Responsibilities: Create and enhance data services including recommendations, health risks, and A/B testing Maintain, enhance, and optimize the data pipeline Instrument new data sources Support reporting and business intelligence ​Requirements: Command of Scala, Java, or a similar language (Scala itself is not required) Command of SQL Command of data structures and algorithms Experience with Hadoop computational and storage layers.  Spark experience is a plus Strong knowledge of distributed systems and application design Ability to track down root causes and fix them in systematic ways Analytical with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail Self-starter and results-oriented And for bonus points, experience with the following technologies and concepts: CDH Ops MongoDB / NoSQL AWS Web frameworks   Recommendation and rules-based engines Configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt), monitoring (Sensu, Nagios) and metrics (Graphite, Librato, statsd)
