Vue d'ensemble

  • Description

Our school is a charity organization founded in 2014 by an American war veteran and his Vietnamese colleague. The school provides free English language instruction to Vietnamese of all ages. We currently serve central Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam.

The majority of those attending our school are university students from all over Vietnam. Most of them are from poor farm families who cannot afford the expense of studying with native English speakers.

Being conversant in English is critically important for every student's career.

The school places great emphasis on speaking skills, especially pronunciation. We offer classes in the evening and weekend mornings and afternoons. Volunteers have an opportunity to learn from students about the diversity of culture, climates and economies in Vietnam's unique provinces.

  • What else …

Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam and celebrated its one thousandth anniversary in 2010. In this ancient city, there's an abundance of historic sites. Museums, temples and university campuses are spread throughout the city. Hanoi has one of the youngest population in Asia which is renowned for its respect toward the older generation.

Vietnam's beautiful countryside is only 45 minutes away. Travellers can observe the daily life of traditional Vietnamese farmers as they work in the fields. There are tour available to visit ancient villages and temples in the countryside.

The School prides itself in providing a clean, tranquil, smoke free environment. There's a quiet patio garden available for dining or as a place to just relax. There are no televisions in the house so bring your imagination and a good book.
