Program Manager – Port au Prince, Haiti
The Program Manager will lead grant management and manage large partner portfolio and programme/projects and further development of FCA’s work in Haiti. This is to be done in close cooperation with colleagues at the Regional Office in Haiti and FCA Head Office (HO) in Helsinki, Finland and with FCA partners. The Programme Manager will report to the Regional Representative of the FCA Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) in Port au Prince, Haiti.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Manage large portfolio of partners and programs/projects in humanitarian, development and advocacy work in Haiti
- Ensure the quality and sustainability of FCA Haiti country programme according to FCA’s strategy and policies
- Manage and supervise the programme team, assuring quality PMER in programs and projects
- Be responsible for project management and overall PMER of FCA’s humanitarian, development and advocacy projects in accordance with FCA Policies and Guidelines.
- Provide appropriate program and technical support for partners in the design and management of high quality projects, and facilitate and contribute to capacity building of partners and FCA staff
- Identify new funding opportunities and respond to those by leading the planning and conception of new projects in cooperation with FCA HO
- Be responsible for local level communications related to programme and fundraising, including institutional donors
- Ensure a strong link between humanitarian and development activities and advocacy in cooperation with partnerts
- Undertake other duties as designated
Expérience
Competence and Personal Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences or other relevant field
- Proven experience in project/programme management (PMER) , including financial project management
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with an INGO, out of which minimum two years in field operations
- Proven experience in fundraising for international institutional agencies and managing budgets with diverse donor base,
- Experience managing staff and a commitment to team building, mentoring and staff developmentStrong communication skills
- Willingness to travel in Haiti and ability to work independentlyAbility to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Langues parlées
- Excellent written and spoken English and French
Qualité du candidat
- Good understanding of development approaches and principles, in particular RBA, gender analysis, LRRD and conflict sensitivity
- Good understanding of humanitarian standards and methodology
- Good understanding of partnerships management as well as able to develop the capacity of staff and partners
- Strong knowledge of international donors rules and regulations is an asset
- Good understanding and thematic experience in at least one of FCA’s strategic themes (education/livelihoods/peace) is an asset
