We’re looking for a passionate, self-driven, and agile leader to shape to shape the marketing strategy for Seattle. As Marketing Manager, you will report to the General Manager and will own the complete marketing vision and process along Seattle’s continued growth path.

We’re looking for a thinker and a doer who is equally creative and analytical. You should be comfortable crafting a comprehensive acquisition marketing strategy, formulating an implementation plan, executing on all details, and iterating through a continual test and learn process. We love marketers who are driven to innovate rather than simply repeat best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with General Manager, Regional Field Marketing Manager and home office Field Marketing team on the development, implementation and management of the Seattle Market member acquisition and engagement strategies.
  • Lead the local market team in reaching goals and building community awareness through partnerships, sponsorships, events, promotions, and media recommendations
  • Monitor, measure, and report the effectiveness of marketing initiatives - and then efficiently optimize
  • Manage Marketing Coordinators who oversee day-to-day operations, including management of the Brand Ambassador Team; actively recruit and train new team members and monitor results
  • Explore and evaluate local Business Development opportunities to build long-term market strategy
  • Support Zipcar for Business account generation and managements; implement and oversee all Zipcar for Government programs
  • Identify location-specific growth opportunities for fleet and prospective member base
  • Prepare the annual budget, track variance, and direct financial allocation in order to achieve marketing goals
  • Be the local voice of the brand via active social media engagement, email marketing and content creation
  • Participate on-site at key marketing events, showcasing a critical understanding of the consumer experience
  • Lead frequent meetings with all stakeholders, including external partners, internal teams, and direct reports

Requirements:

  • 5+ years prior management experience, 7+ years marketing experience
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure including with local, cross- functional teams (Zipcar for Business, Fleet, Locations, Member Services) as well as all marketing disciplines at home office (Public Relations, Commerce & Community, Acquisition, Creative)
  • Results-driven: Experience with tracking success of marketing programs, with an acute eye for ROI beyond just great ideas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Must pass Zipcar Pre-Employment Background, Drivers check and Drug Screen
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills that include clear articulation and persuasion in positive or negative situation; prior PR experience a plus
  • Agility: You should be forward-thinking and flexible, with the ability to thrive under in ambiguous and dynamic environments
  • Member-centric: Empathetic approach to service, paired with a passion for our brand and a belief that we are fulfilling a real need in member’s lives
  • Local: Seattle Market knowledge is a must. As a Company, we collaborate to achieve a shared global mission while focusing on locally-driven solutions with custom communication
  • Leadership: Prior management experience with demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire, through the professional development of Marketing Coordinators and Brand Ambassadors
