  • Description

Immerse yourself in rural France… we are off the beaten track in the southern Loire Valley, near the historic town of Loches. Our 15th century house is at the heart of a very small medieval village. People who stay with us tend to enjoy a less frenetic pace of life to those of city dwellers. We have a local store with a bar, but that's it!

We are open minded and really enjoy meeting new people, swapping ideas and getting a new view of life. Indeed, we've had some wonderful people stay with us from all over the world. And we should personally like to thank each and everyone who has helped us so far. We've worked hard together, but we've had lots of fun too!

  • Help

The garden is quite large and we particularly need help with weeding, clearing debris, cutting grass, and pruning trees.

Like all old buildings there is always something to repair… we could do with some assistance with general building maintenance like repairing stone walls, decorating, and cleaning. We use local craftsman for the technical jobs such as roofing, the electrics and plumbing - you don't need to worry about that stuff.

During the Season (April to September) we may need help cleaning rooms and making beds and helping prepare evning meals for guests.

We'll do most of the cooking, so we would appreciate you doing the washing up. Of course we're happy for you to show off your own cooking skills too - then we will do the washing up!

  • Accommodation

We'll put you up in one of the old staff apartments. It's not 4*luxury, but its private, dry, clean and quiet. We may be able to accommodate more than 2 people, depending on the time of year (please ask us).

  • What else …

From Paris the nearest mainline railway station to us, is in Tours. There is also an international Airport at Tours (serviced by RyanAir). The bus which will deliver you to our village leaves from the centre of Tours and takes an hour to get here.

We have a friendly old dog - Hugo.

    We have free WiFi Internet.

When we can, we'll get you out-and-about to visit some of the many wonders of our region. Or you can take the local bus service to explore the area at your own pace.
