Description
I may be delayed in response time but please contact me with how soon you are able to head to my area.
I own a dog sledding business halfway between Clearwater and Blue River, B.C. This is a remote location so you must be happy to live in a solitary environment.
My team currently consists of nine very happy Siberian huskies, who live indoors with me in my cozy wooden cabin. There is an outdoor running area for the dogs but they love lying on their beds warming up next to the wood burning stove or keeping cool from the summer heat. The number one priority for me is that my dogs are taken care of completely and with much love, respect and attention. They are more than just sled dogs to me and must be treated as such. A natural affinity and love for animals, especially dogs, is a must.
My cabin is off grid but I do have a generator and solar panels which power WiFi, electricity and I own a tv. I enjoy watching movies at night and own an extensive dvd collection. At night the cabin is lit by candle light. I have a gas powered shower so it is possible to heat water and have hot showers. I also have a wood-stove sauna if you are so inclined.
Summer is beginning to arrive at my cabin in the woods and on cool days there may be opportunities to learn how to dog cart and take my team running along the paths near the river. If you are interested in learning these skills I can teach you on the weekends.
In your spare time, you can relax in my wood burning sauna, play with the dogs and take photographs of the picturesque surroundings. There are lots of woodland paths if you like hiking or biking, and I am located only 500m from the beach on the banks of the North Thompson river.

Help
A valid driving license is beneficial because you might have to go grocery shopping. I will need help with heavy lifting, building repair and maintenance, chain-sawing of trees off trails, chopping wood, mowing of lawns.
It is preferable if you are a motivated individual who can complete each job when necessary. There is no fixed schedule, but there are a number of daily tasks which need to be completed each day.
NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IS TAKING CARE OF THE DOGS AND PUPPIES.
Some days your daily tasks might be lighting the fire, gardening or landscape upkeep, trail reclamation and chainsawing of trees throughout the property. It depends on what needs to be done on the day.

Accommodation
You will have your own private room with a double bed in my cabin - dogs are not allowed into your room. It is a dog hair-free zone!
There is a large living room/kitchen with tables, couches and lots of room to relax in front of the fire. I also have a newly decorated solarium where you can exercise or do yoga.
I have a gas stove, fridge and cupboards for your food. You will have to do your own cooking, but I am happy to provide food supplies in exchange for your services.
I do have a shared indoor bathroom but I prefer for people to use the outdoor 'loo', which is a compost toilet.

What else …
My cabin is quite remote so I would prefer if you have your own transportation or else own a valid driving license so that you can drive my vehicle while you are here.
I am very easy going, friendly and enjoy meeting new people. I am also a vegetarian and find it easy to supply what I already prefer to eat (obviously…ha ha). I am open to accepting a single Workawayer, but I do like friendly, hard working people. If you are coming to stay here, I can promise you a happy environment with lots of friendly huskies but I will need your help to keep my house running. This will involve a certain amount of heavy lifting and hard labour, but there will be plenty of leisure time too.
Since all of my dogs live indoors, this position would not be suitable for anyone with dog allergies or issues with dog hairs. You will be spending a lot of time with the pack!
