    If this field of activity sounds like the perfekt match for you, we are looking forward to welcome you for three weeks or longer to help us restoring the old castle of Burgliebenau.

    We are living closely together with our guests from all over the world. We cook and have meals together in the family kitchen. But every guest has his own furnished bedroom.

    We, that is the young family of Matthias(43), Dagny(32) and our baby-son Johann. We are living and working in the castle of Burgliebenau. We are experienced in preservation and developement of old buildings and already restored the medieval settlement of the Teutonic Order in Buro (near Wittenberg) where we also organize cultural events. Matthias is the Chairman of the „Society for Historic Houses and Gardens of Saxony Anhalt“ and author of several historical books. Dagny is cultural manager for diverse events.

    We need help with several projects in the old castle of Burgliebenau, founded 800 years ago
    - restorating the Chapel, Library and guest rooms
    - plastering, restoring windows, carpentry
    - creating a historic kitchengarden
    - clearing the area around the castle and develop a small park
    - organizing cultural events

    Burgliebenau is a village in the middle of Germany in Saxony-Anhalt (the Country, where Martin Luther lived and worked 500 years ago). Nearby Cities are Halle (Birthtown oft he composer Handel) and Leipzig. The international airport Leipzig/Halle and good long-distance train connections make it easy for you to reach Burgliebenau. You will be living in your own room and may share the bathroom facilities with 1-2 other volunteers. Cooking and eating will take place in our family kitchen.
