- feeding our pet pigs, Tilapia, African Sulcata Tortoise, and egg laying hens

What else …
We are located near beaches, hiking trails, a movie theater ($6 Tuesday), restaurants, and more. We are located on the slopes of Koko Crater.
Public transportation is easy to use. Sometimes purchasing a month bus pass is beneficial. If you are staying long and arrive at the beginning of the month then the pass is worth it. If you are going to use public transportation the the monthly pass is also worth it. No hassles with transfers expiring and it's unlimited.
Our volunteers have gone surfing, hiking, and downtown to see a comedy show. You can also find free things to do and see.
Our location offers a variety of activities if you are willing to make the most of your stay. We had volunteers that stayed with us for 2 months and was getting the full experience. If you ask, I might be able to help you get in contact with people like join a soccer club for example.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
If you are willing, you will learn why it's so important to grow your own food at home. We live on an island and if the ships stop coming we have to learn how to survive and be sustainable.
Oahu has many different cultures so if you like to explore the island then you will have a great cultural experience.
