• Description

  We operate ‘Merit’ a Volvo 60 ocean racer, from Abell Point Marina. We’re looking for someone who’s an experienced sailor, strong, and good with guests.

  If you’re available immediately that would be helpful.

  We’d like you to assist on the vessel 3 days per week in exchange.

  If a couple, we could use some marketing or housekeeping as well.

  Our vessel, is available for day trips for both corporate charters and the local tourism industry. The role will provide opportunity to learn from a sailing instructor and gather sea time.

  Responsibilities include assisting in operations and maintenance of the vessel + attending to guests.

  The successful candidate will possess the following:
  * ability to listen to instructions and follow procedure
  * excellent customer service skills
  * a high standard of personal presentation
  * a reasonable level of physical fitness

  Preference will be given to candidates with sailing experience.

  Remuneration includes a food + accommodation package. If extra days’ work are accepted, wages will be paid at award rates.

  Because we’ll be investing time in training you to assist on a high-powered vessel, we ask for a two-month commitment.

  Bedroom with queen bed, pool, bus stop nearby. We are one kilometre from a shopping centre and the beach is within walking distance.

  The Whitsundays is a beautiful place - go to Whitehaven Beach or snorkel/dive the Great Barrier Reef. Airlie Beach is a fun town where you’ll meet people from all backgrounds.
