Summary job description
We are currently recruiting a Fisheries Exchange Manager Within Our Madagascar team to coordinate community exchanges Taking Place Within Madagascar.
These exchanges form a key share of Blue Ventures’ outreach strategy, and visits to Involve community-based marine conservation and coastal locations around Madagascar by community groups and Their Accompanying partner organizations (both from Madagascar and overseas). Visits are Intended to Provide Opportunities for productive direct dialogue entre fishers from different Communities, as well as the exchange of information and experiences Relating to community-based fisheries management and conservation.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and Organised individual, with excellent skills in logistics, partner management and communications. Ideally, you will have experience of community-based conservation and development initiatives in Madagascar, and enjoy independent working.
The Fisheries Exchange Manager will report to Blue Ventures’ Conservation Team (in the UK) and Madagascar Country Director, and preferably be based in our office in Toliara Madagascar, with regular national and occasional overseas travel to work with partners and field teams.
Expérience
- Educated to MSc or equivalent level, Ideally in a conservation and
development-related field - At least three years’ practical experience Supporting and coordinating projects, celebrities
events gold. - Strong relationship building skills; proven Ability to manage multiple communications with stakeholders with The Highest degree of professionalism
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience Engaging and diverse Mobilising Communities Including local stakeholders, NGOs, government and private sector actors
- Fully competent in using MS Office and Google Drive
- Fluency in Malagasy, French and English
- Collaborative team player
- Dynamic, enthusiastic and highly Organised

Exchange preparation, coordination and management
- Liaising with visiting and host Communities and partners
- Coordinating itineraries, logistics, budgets, scheduling and insurance
- Tailoring exchanges to the specific needs and interests of Each visiting party
- Minimising the burden That can spot exchanges on host and staff Communities program, and prepaid Identifying Appropriate short-term technical or logistical backing as required (for example vehicles, interpretation capacity, etc.)
leadership Exchange
- Providing proactive leadership of exchanges, Ensuring That visitors’ and hosts are fully Briefed, Prepared and supported before, During and after-Each visit, and Provided with adequate guidance to maximize the learning potential of Each Exchange
- Appropriate Gathering feedback from exchange participants to guide efforts to Improve exchange performance
Analysis, evaluation and reporting
- Providing requisite follow up to visiting and host Communities.
- Evaluating and Documenting Learning from Each key exchange, and building a central resource library of best practices in community fisher exchanges.
- Working with Blue Ventures’ digital preservation manager and communications team to map activities around exchanges, Including the coordination of blogs and prospects visiting from partner organizations, social media posts, and news items.
