Vue d'ensemble
What we’re looking for:
About us:
Swift Navigation provides a centimeter-accurate GPS location for autonomous vehicles, be it a tractor, drone, car, or anything else navigating the world.
By moving GPS positioning from custom hardware to a flexible software-based receiver, we deliver real-time kinematics (RTK) GPS that is 100x more accurate than the GPS in your cell phone, and 10x more affordable than the competition.
We are venture funded, recently won the Qualcomm QPrize, and have a fantastic slate of customers. Come join us!
The role:
We’re looking for outstanding Embedded Engineers who focus in hardware/firmware, software or tech leadership to work on the core of our GPS receiver technology. You will be working with a small team to push the state of the art in satellite navigation technology, making high accuracy positioning ubiquitous and easy to use across a wide variety of industries and applications in unmanned aerial vehicles, robotics, and autonomous transportation.
Your focus will be in either one of two areas: software (embedded C, RTOS, DSP) or hardware (RF, PCB, FPGA, DFM) development. This will an excellent opportunity to move into a technical leadership role.
Our ideal candidate has:
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience. Ph.D. work can count towards this.
- Has been through the lifecycle of shipping a hardware product.
- Experience with Embedded C / Microcontrollers
- Experience in Python or Bash
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- Experience with PCB layout and board level communication (SPI, I2C, etc.)
- Exceptional problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with schematic capture
Bonus points for:
- Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, ChibiOS, etc)
- Experience with RF Electronics / Software Defined Radio
- Technical leadership and mentorship in fast-paced research and feature development environment
- Publications, conference talks, or independent projects in this area.
- Previous work experience at a startup
- Experience with Python / NumPy / SciPy / Pandas, R or other analysis/scripting platforms
- FPGA experience, VHDL or Verilog
- Experience with Electronics DFM
- Experience with Hardware Production QA / Testing
We offer:
- Strong ownership over a new, highly-available, high-precision GPS positioning product targeting machine automation. We enable a future of self-driving cars, drones and other robotics.
- Competitive salary and equity
- Flexible vacation policy
- 401(k), Medical, Dental, Vision benefits
- Sunny bike-friendly office in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco close to public transit.
