Education Project Manager – based Central Africa Republic (CAR)
Central Africa Republic is one of FCA’s main program countries, where the organisation engages in relief and reconstruction work. FCA established a field office in the country in the autumn 2013.
Since its establishment in Bangui, FCA has developed its program to responds to the acute humanitarian crisis, with a specific focus on the education sector, and more specifically on the rehabilitation of school structures. Aiming at restoring access to safe and quality education in CAR, FCA will aim at scaling up its reconstruction activities while exploring additional sectors of activities relating to its themes Right to Peace and Right to Livelihood.
The Education Project Manager´s responsibility is implementation of a FCA education project and providing support in planning and carrying out activities related to other FCA projects in CAR.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Strong staff management skills – including training and mentoring
- Monitoring of ongoing activities,
- Timely implementation of remaining activities,
- Monthly Report and Donors Report writing,
- Final reports and handover at the end of the Contract
- Responsible use of project budgets,
- Ensure that procurement of material (construction etc.) is done according to FCA guidelines and accountability principles,
- Support the implementation of construction and WASH components in other FCA projects in CAR if needed
- Quality control of activities
Expérience
Competence and Personal Requirements:
- Minimum Master’s degree in a relevant field of specialization
- Experience of implementing Education in Emergencies projects in a post-conflict setting
- Proven experience (at least three years) and capacity in humanitarian project management (PMER), including financial management
- Strong planning, monitoring and evaluation skills
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis and report writing
- Experience in cooperating and networking with LNGOs, INGOs, Governmental Institutions, Local Authorities, UN Agencies
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, and creative in problem-solving
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office package
- Flexible and capable of working and living in challenging conditions in a multicultural environment
- Valid international driving license is require
Langues parlées
- Strong English and French proficiency and writing skills
Qualité du candidat
- Good understanding of humanitarian approaches and standards and gender issues
- Strong knowledge of PCM
- Proven team orientation skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
- Excellent inter-personal and inter-cultural skills
