We’re looking for a Creative Director who can leverage visual design, user research, and interaction design to craft Parasol’s brand message through online and offline communications. Reporting to our CEO, you’ll be involved in all aspects of design, and your reach will extend from concept to final product for all of our print and digital assets, as well as our physical products and packaging. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce consistent, beautiful, high quality visual solutions that meet business and user needs by representing the brand via typography, photography, color, and videos - across all platforms including web, mobile, email, and print.
  • Create and implement dynamic style guides and design standards including all internal UI documents, icons, elements, practices, behaviors, and more. Be the champion of the Parasol Co brand.
  • Explore new ideas and engage in friendly design critiques with stakeholders - always having your finger on the pulse of new trends in design
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of end users’ behaviors and motivations to communicate design rationale to key stakeholders. Articulate and justify design decisions by effectively presenting design options and solutions for stakeholders from concept to final production
  • Design and construct web artwork for pages and navigation based on wireframes provided by the UX ArchitectDesign fashion-forward web graphics and marketing collateral consistent with the company’s brand image
  • Work in a highly iterative and collaborative way, alongside Marketing, Product Design, Operations, and Digital/Tech teams. Work with outside contractors and agencies to establish consistency across visual brand communication.
  • Establish key relationships with textile and product designers. Contribute to overall look and strategic direction of our physical products - including diapers, wipes, diaper bags, packaging, and more.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7 years of web and/or mobile design experience for a consumer product. Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design or graphic design (or combination of education and experience)
  • Strong portfolio featuring a clean aesthetic, strong web-based interfaces, and responsive web design; must showcase user experience, visual design, responsive web design, and creative marketing/branding projects
  • Highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Invision and/or other design tools
  • Strong knowledge of technical capabilities and constraints across devices; interest in engaging with emerging technologies
  • Design leadership experience across the entire product lifecycle and multiple product launches
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to clearly explain design decisions and feedback to business partners and engineersBroad operating range. Thinks strategically and has a balanced understanding of strategy, usability, interaction, and visual design.
  • Ability to communicate design through sketches, models, prototypes and style guides
  • Experience with print design, leading photography or videography shoots a plus
  • Experience in a startup environment a plus
  • Experience in eCommerce & mobile a plus
