The Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK) supports indigenous peoples and traditional populations of the world’s rainforest to:

Secure and control the natural resources necessary for their long-term wellbeing and to manage these resources in ways which do not harm their environment, violate their culture or compromise their future.

Develop means to protect their individual and collective rights and to obtain, shape and control basic services from the state.

As part of a team of four staff, the Community Forests and Land Use Planning Advisor will work in close cooperation with other members of the DRC Programme Unit, other relevant RFUK staff as well as with RFUK DRC partners, and with relevant ministries and institutions in DRC and in the Congo basin region, to implement and guide activities related to the execution of the DFID-funded Community Forests project.

The post is based in the Rainforest Foundation’s north London office, with regular travel to the Congo Basin region.
