  • Description

This is a family-owned eco-project on a 5 acre rustic off-the-grid (no cellphone service due to mountains). We are looking for builders/alternate-energy enthusiasts and artists to help and share skills. Our place is rugged in a beautiful west coast forest setting just a 10 minute walk away from a wonderful little mountain lake where the swimming is amazing.

If you enjoy adventure and creativity we would love to have you come and assist us to help repair and do maintenance work on our 25 year old infrastructure. We have used recycled building materials and do-it- yourself infrastructure that provides a one of a kind creative place to relax and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.

We are a couple -Martin and Michelle who are young at heart in our 50's who want to do some building/creating and repair to our little art-ful refuge and our plan is to make it available as a unique RUSTIC vacation rental experience for people interested in connecting with nature and spending time off the grid.

We enjoy eating healthy meals-can do vegetarian as well. We are positive people who enjoy sharing life and laughter with others we meet along the way from all walks of life. We have many interests including tiny-home building and making collaborative public art.

There is plenty of art including a hand-carved wooden buddha and meditation labyrinth on our property and the nearest pristine lake is a 10 minute walk down the road. This is our first month as workaway hosts! We look forward to meeting you!

Our work schedule is every week day and always is weather dependent. We love making connections with other artists and creative makers and builders who want to collaborate and share their ideas and energy in a positive way.

We have outhouse facilities and a gravity-fed water system. This is the coastal BC mountains so you will need bug spray and mosquito repellant. Also you need to bring a warm sleeping bag. We recently added a primitive but wonderful hot water shower too!

If you have bee allergies you will need to bring an epi-pen. Bring good footwear and warm clothes for the evenings. Of course a bathing suit and towel is a must.
