Job description

The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:

Finance and accounting:

  • Oversee the issuance of financial information
  • Report financial results to the board of directors and the CEO
  • Prepare reliable actual and forecasting reports
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
  • Monitor cash balances and provide cash forecasts
  • Establish a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
  • Follow project expenses and ensure proper financial to donors in conformity with their requirements
  • Manage payroll

Administrative Management:

  • Establish process guides (financial, administrative, accounting, etc.) and ensure their respect in all branches and countries of the company
  • Ensure circulation of information between all entities
  • Support the preparation of board meetings
