Our home is in Rural Canterbury (Start of Banks Peninsula) we are a rural family of 4 (we do have older son who lives with his family on the farm also) otherwise our Daughter is Self Employed living at Home still and our Youngest Son is a Student studying towards a Diploma . We run a large farm consisting of Hill and Flat split into 3 different blocks.
Daphne & Ralph - owners and parents!
Daphne -Currently due to recovering from a knee injury is very limited to what she can do outside the home. Daphne has always loved having surroundings to the home they built now known as the Homestead of the farm well presented. Daphne has interest in crafts where she can find time but currently has little time for these. She is a Nana to 3 grandchildren aged 9yrs and under.Due to this injury within the family we are seeking extra help as our Daughter (Sarah) can't do everything herself while running her own business also. If Daphne had no Crutches or injury she would be outside doing these tasks along side our Daughter and Son for our enjoyment as a family however can't so Daphne would love to do the cooking and be a mother figure to you while you stay within our family environment.
Ralph works off the farm during the week as a General Manager of a Ship/Transport firm. In the weekend Ralph catches up on some farm tasks where needed and does firewood cutting up and general tasks. Ralph also is very involved in business interests.
Sarah (Daughter) is Self employed in Horticulture and is happy to give our guests a full on Horticulture Vegetable Gardening experience. Sarah currently has time to work alongside our guests on many tasks and also is a great cook.
William (Son) is a Diploma Student full time. In spare time from studying (we are very keen on him to continue to achieve high grades) he pitches in and supports the farm on duties and development plans around his hours of Study.
We mainly run Beef and a few Sheep on our farm we complete many farm tasks where suitable you are welcome to view/be involved along side us.
Our Homestead has been under massive repair from Canterbury Earthquakes over the last 4 years and now it’s time to return and maintain our Vegetable and Flower Gardens including Surrounds into our Paradise again this includes having a need to landscape areas so some of the tasks are: moving wooden raised vegetable beds to new location, moving compost, a bit of building and construction and weeding where needed.
