China Operations Manager
We are hiring a Project Manager to support Hello Tomorrow China. The Project Manager based in Paris (but travelling regularly to Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province), will work on the set up of Hello Tomorrow’s activities in Chengdu, and especially on the organization of our Investor Summit (3-days event) to be held in Chengdu (November 2019).

Hello Tomorrow China
As we want to provide a tailored approach to helping on the ground deep-tech startups, developing ecosystems, and building a worldwide actionable network, we developed Hello Tomorrow International Hubs in multiple countries.
Hello Tomorrow China aims at animating local deeptech ecosystems and connecting them to the global Hello Tomorrow network by building bridges between local and international stakeholders such as startups, corporates and investors.
Hello Tomorrow China operates through the collaboration of a dedicated local team in Chengdu with project and event management experience supported by the experience and know-how of members of the Paris headquarter team. The China Operations Manager (mostly based in Paris and doing regular trips to China) will be the essential link to ensure that the teams work as one entity representing Hello Tomorrow China.
Hello Tomorrow Investor Summit in China
The Investor Summit to be held in Chengdu will be the first annual gathering of our community in China. The entire event, gathering about 2000 participants, will be conceived to increase investment opportunities for deeptech startups (from China and abroad) from VC and CVC coming from China and overseas countries. Ultimately, it will be the first event of a longer series of activities to connect Chengdu’s ecosystem to the Hello Tomorrow network ecosystem.
During 3 days, participants will get access to 1-to-1 meetings between startups and investors (Day 1), insightful conference sessions on the investment landscape in deeptech and know-how on chinese market specificities (Day 2) and learning expeditions to discover key local stakeholders (Day 3).
What will be your role?
Designing the Investor Summit Program (session definition and speakers outreach) : 1 day-long Conference on Day 2.
Attracting 100 investors (outside China) to attend leveraging Hello Tomorrow network and beyond.
Identifying and inviting 100 startups (outside China) to attend leveraging Hello Tomorrow network.
Organizing learning expeditions in Chengdu for VCs and corporates coming from Europe.
Supporting the Hello Tomorrow China team in their day-to-day work (gathering useful resources and know how to guide and advise them as well as connecting the team in China with the right team members in Paris to provide support).
Managing the relationships with key local stakeholders in the project (partners, government and suppliers).
Ensuring that Hello Tomorrow China follows our global branding and guidelines.
Supporting the identification of Global Partners to involve in the project.
Your profile?
Solid Fluency in Chinese & English.
Very good understanding of the tech investment landscape (experience in working with VCs and/or CVCs is a strong PLUS).
Good understanding of deep tech startups needs and scale-up challenges.
Experience working in China.
Experience working remotely with other international teams.
Passionate about science and technology.
Strong organization skills.
Experience managing autonomously a project from A to Z.
Very proactive.
Proven negotiation and business development skills is strong PLUS.
