Within Asia, Entrepreneurs du Monde has programs in India, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines. In the Philippines, Entrepreneurs du Monde is involved in microfinance through Samar Crusade Against Poverty, Inc., a microfinance institution created in 2017 to work in rural areas with farmers and small entrepreneurs.
ABOUT THE POSITION
You will oversee the implementation of accounting, finance, cash flow, and administrative policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational requirements and will be managing the Finance and Administrative Department staff:
Accounting & Finance:
– Overseeing the daily/monthly/yearly reconciliation of the software and the accounting documents
– Checking all the accounting books to ensure accuracy and reliability (bank reconciliation, monitoring the fixed assets schedule for all equipment and assets in the head office and branches)
– Preparation of financial reports (monthly and year-end financial reports for the organization, and reports for donors)
Cash flow:
– Implement the budget and planned distribution of source funds, in collaboration with the Program Manager
– Fund management (manage bank accounts, bank transfers, cash disbursements from branches and HQ)
– Ensure that expenditures have been forecasted within the budget
– Analyze the cost effectiveness of planned and actual expenditures
Administrative:
– Payroll and employee benefits checking
– Head Office and Branch set-up in terms of procurement of assets, fixtures and furniture and other technical investments
Management of the finance team (recruitment, integration, monitoring existing staff, evaluation)
PROFILE
§ Graduate in Accountancy; “Certified Public Accountant” desirable
§ At least three years’ relevant experience in a finance/admin role in the field at an appropriate level, with a sound understanding of working in Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
§ Strong background in administration, operations management, risk management, internal auditing and financial management
§ Proven ability to provide support, guidance and training to financial and non-financial staff and peers
§ Ability to work within deadlines with good prioritization and time management skills
§ Ability to work in a cross-cultural and complex environment
§ Communication and reporting skills, both verbally and in writing
§ Fluency in written/spoken English
§ Experience in multi-currency accounting desired
§ Willingness to conduct field work required
§ Commitment to uphold Entrepreneurs du Monde’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, goals, and policies
§ Excellent computer skills (Excel, in particular);
§ Able to relocate to Catarman, a remote city on Samar Island in the Philippines.
CONDITIONS
– Status: VSI (Volontaire en Solidarité Internationale) of 1 year
– Desired start date: April 2019
– Post based in Catarman, Philippines;
– VSI Indemnity: €400 or €600 paid in France and US$450 paid in the Philippines
– Interviews will take place in Lyon (France) or Manila (Philippines) or, in exceptional circumstances, remotely.
